Amoray Dive Resort, located in the Florida Keys on the island of Key Largo, lives by the motto “Peace, Love and Diving,” reflecting its dedication to being a family-friendly operator where everyone, including newer divers, kids and anyone who enjoys a more relaxed, easygoing underwater experience, feels most at home.
Amoray is a quaint, tropical hide- away with 30 just-refreshed rooms, all steps from a full-service PADI Five Star Dive Center. With on-site Amoray Dive Center, the resort won a combined 13 awards in the United States and Canada in categories ranging from Quality of the Resort to Quality of Dive Boats and Attention to Safety. The resort even placed first in Best Overall.
Anyone who’s been diving with Amoray agrees that the staff is a big reason this dive center is worth coming back again and again. It’s the instructors and crew who create the vibe—one that’s welcoming, engaging and full of laughter and chatting.
All classes and guided dives are restricted to four guests per instructor, which is much lower than the norm and creates a personalized experience.
Amoray provides the utmost in safety, as well as a personal, attentive in-water experience where the good stuff, from a squadron of eagle rays to turtles on the wreck of the Benwood, is pointed out by their dive professional.
And there’s a lot to point out, which is one of the biggest reasons the Florida Keys won this year as Best Overall destination in the United States and Canada for diving. Key Largo serves up shallow reefs, wrecks and that photo-op favorite: Christ of the Abyss, which Amoray dives on Wednesday and Sunday mornings.

It’s all just steps from your room. The Resort and Dive Center are designed for convenience, offering an all-in-one experience. You bring your gear to the Dive Center's complimentary Guest Gear Locker and that's it—no need to pile it in a car, hang it in your shower to dry or schlep it around every day.
Just wake up and pad down to the on-site food truck for a fresh cup of joe and breakfast before catching the morning dive boat.
Nondivers can enjoy the pool as well as free use of bicycles and kayaks to explore local trails and mangroves.
An added bonus is most dive sites are within 45 minutes of the resort, so after the morning boat trip, divers can join nondiving friends and family for an afternoon snorkel or visit to a local brewery. Snorkelers are also welcome on most dives.
Amoray can also help organize tours farther afield, including eco-tours focusing on dolphins, birds or manatees, or even a trip up to the Everglades to see Florida’s biggest wetlands national park.
Whatever you have in mind, the resort will help set it up so that you have your best Florida Keys trip yet.
Bring the Kids
Kids can totally get in on the action at Amoray, where PADI Bubblemaker and Seal Team pro- grams are available for children ages 8 and older. Once the whole fam is certified, the group can hire its own dive guide for a more private underwater experience happening at their own pace. It all adds up to a much more personalized and utterly unforgettable trip.
Keep It Clean
Amoray Dive Center is an avid participant in the Florida Marine Sanctuaries Clean Seas initiative and has conducted more than 15 Dive Against Debris boat trips in the past year.
