Dive Paradise is located at the 180-room, all-inclusive Wyndham Cozumel Hotel and Resort, home to the island’s largest pool. Accommodations packages take advantage of the resort’s many amenities, including a kids’ club, pool-side bar and room service. The property also has a sand beach as well as a natural stone grotto for relaxing ocean dips. The resort’s front yard is Cozumel’s main reef system, giving guests access to shore diving day or night. Best of all, the hotel is less than a mile from downtown, making it easy to head in for dinner, drinks, or shopping.

Dive Paradise also offers a full-service concierge, coordinating day tours. One of the most popular offerings is mid-June through mid-September to the neighboring island of Isla Mujeres to swim with whale sharks. Dive Paradise boats are shaded and cater to groups no bigger than eight to 10 snorkelers for a more intimate experience. The trip also includes lunch and time to swim and relax on the island of Isla Mujeres.
From mid-November to mid-February, this operator also offers excursions to dive with the female bull sharks that gather off Playa del Carmen, the city just across the water from Cozumel. The second dive in this trip is to the wreck of the Mama Via, a former shrimp boat that’s now an artificial reef providing shelter to green moray eels and logger-head turtles.
New this year, Dive Paradise has established a presence in Tulum. They now make it easy to add three days and two nights on the Mexico mainland so you can add cenote diving, jungle adventures and excursions to Mayan ruins on to your Cozumel getaway. Packages are with either Hotel Alea Tulum, located on the beach, or Kan Tulum, a collection of tree houses set in the jungle and nestled around a swimming pool. Both properties have on-site cenotes for refreshing swims or even checkout dives.

Paso Del Cedral, located near the southern end of the Santa Rosa Wall, offers unique topography in which divers slip through light-filled cracks in the reef wall. Inside the crevices, divers will likely encounter spotted drums, green morays and spiny lobsters.
Don’t Miss
The two-tank twilight package offers a chance to gain confidence at night or simply see another side of the reefs. The first dive is before dusk to help divers acclimate. The second reveals all the nighttime wonders, from octopuses to crabs on the hunt. Each group of no more than six divers has their own dive guide for a more personalized experience.
