With local shark encounters on the rise, Islamorada Dive Center has been offering the PADI Shark Awareness course more frequently to allow divers the chance to learn up close why these apex predators are vital to Keys reefs. Students who take their Open Water Diver course have the chance to earn this certificate at the same time, jump-starting their diving with a deeper understanding of these animals and the tropical reef ecosystem.
